Summer means a lot of excitement. School is out, and warmer weather amounts to endless activities and opportunities for fun. Sometimes saying “no” is the easy option because a “yes” requires flexibility (cue the later bedtimes and necessary adjustments for the next day). Parenting takes flexibility and it is important to reset our expectations for given circumstances like the summer bbq, fireworks, travel, etc…

Jamie and Emily talk about the lessons they have learned from losing their $h*t and recognizing (and managing) the triggers that make them feel upset. Both ladies talk strategies for resisting the urge to yell and scream and resetting the expectations to create memories and enjoy this wonderful time of year.
